Traveling Me

Met each other on the journey
While I’m traveling, I still am looking for myself
Sure, I’ve often found my personality
Right at the bottom, hidden, in the dirt
Or on top, present and engaging
Always new and changing
I am so much more and yet disappearing small
Searching true greatness

On my journey through the universe I’m all alone
Sometimes I am brave and strong like a stone
Sometimes the monotonous and demanding day hides me
Still, I continue my journey
From one to the next dazzlingly unknown location
Where I get to discover a new me
I find and invent myself
Shaped by the journey, time and place
I continue my way with curiosity

You already saw a version of me and I’m happy for we have met.

I prefer the flow of the original German version though, sometimes translation takes away a little magic…

Auf der Reise einander begegnet
Während ich reise, bin ich derweil noch auf der Suche nach mir
Klar, oft schon habe ich mich gefunden
Ganz unten, versteckt, im Dreck
Oder oben auf, präsent und gewinnend
Immer wieder neu und im Wandel
Ich bin so vieles mehr, doch klein und verschwindend
Suche ich nach wahrer Größe

Auf meiner Reise durchs Universum bin ich allein
Manchmal bin ich mutig und stark
Manchmal versteckt mich der monotone und fordernde Tag
Ich setze meine Reise fort
Von einem zum nächsten schillernd unbekannten Ort
Dort treffe ich ein neues Ich
Ich finde und erfinde mich
Geprägt von der Reise, von Zeit und Ort
Setzte ich meinen Weg mit Neugierde fort
