Summertime – play it out loud

August 1^st, a wonderful day in northern Germany. It actually felt like the real first day of summer and I enjoyed life to the max. I got up early to do some errands, afterwards I went to the lake with Minime. We had strawberries with ice cream and enjoyed being outside the whole day. In the evening we had a big BBQ. The sun was smiling and so did I.

Today I had to play music real loud – SANTANA! Perfect for this weather and to celebrate life! It goes without saying to play Santana as loud as you can.

As I was younger, I never liked it, when my parents played “samba pa ti”. It took me a while until Santana reached my heart. Today it almost feels like I can’t do without that guitar.

A little flashback that always makes me smiles big times: my ex-boss at one of the big record companies wanted to hear fewer and fewer guitars and demanded this until – in some of the songs – guitars completely vanished. What a crime for someone like me, who lost her heart to Rock’N’Roll and roaring life.

Santana is outstanding and I love all those collaborations and all those other fantastic songs:

Santana’s album “Supernatrual“, done in 1999 featuring artists like Rob Thomas, Everlast, Dave Matthews, Eric Clapton, Lauryn Hill definitely is one of the kind. Further I’d love to recommend the album “Guitar Heaven“ if you go crazy for those screaming out loud guitars as well. The album was released in 2010 and holds songs featuring artists like Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Gavin Rossdale, Joe Cocker and lots more. If you already are in love with Santana, you know there is so much more than that…

I am closing this day with one of my favorite drinks, “Ron Zacapa 23 Centenario” with a splash of passion fruit juice on the rocks.

Sommerzeit – Laut Aufdrehen

1. August, ein wunderschöner Tag in Norddeutschland. Es fühlte sich tatsächlich wie der echte erste Tag des Sommers an, und ich genoss das Leben bis zum Äußersten. Ich stand früh auf, um Besorgungen zu machen, anschließend ging es mit Minime zum See. Wir hatten Erdbeeren mit Eis und genossen es, den ganzen Tag draußen zu sein. Abends gab es ein großes Grillfest. Die Sonne lächelte und ich auch.

Heute musste ich richtig laut Musik spielen – SANTANA! Perfekt für dieses Wetter und um das Leben zu feiern! Es versteht sich von selbst, Santana so laut wie möglich zu spielen.

Als ich jünger war, hat es mir nie gefallen, als meine Eltern “samba pa ti” spielten. Es dauerte eine Weile, bis Santana mein Herz erreichte. Heute fühlt es sich fast so an, als könnte ich ohne diese Gitarre nicht klar kommen.

Ein kleiner Gedankenblitz, der mir immer wieder ein Schmunzel entrückt: Mein Ex-Boss bei einem der großen Plattenfirmen, wollte immer weniger Gitarren hören und hat dieses eingefordert, bis die Gitarren in manchen Liedern völlig verstummten. Was für ein Verbrechen, für jemanden wie mich, habe ich doch mein Herz an Rock’N’Roll und das brüllende Leben verloren.

Außerdem möchte ich das Album „Guitar Heaven“ gerne weiterempfehlen, für diejenigen, die auf schreiende Gitarren stehen. Das Album wurde 2010 veröffentlicht und enthält Songs mit Künstlern wie Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Gavin Rossdale, Joe Cocker und vielen mehr. Wenn du bereits auf Santana stehst weißt du, dass es so viel mehr als das gibt…

Ich schließe diesen Tag mit einem meiner Lieblingsgetränke, “Ron Zacapa 23 Centenario”, mit einem Schuss Maracujasaft auf Eis.
