Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award || Nomination

Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award || Nomination

Eromonsele Emmanuel from Lagos, Nigeria nominated me for the Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award. Please check out his website Ericotrips, a Nigerian travel blogger.

That award came a long way to reach me, all the way from Lagos, Nigeria. Looking at the website, Ericotrips reminds me how small and beautiful this world is and that we all are one!

Especially within the blogging community, it feels like a small neighborhood. It’s very enjoyable to look around and be open for what ever there is to come. I’m happy I came across Ericotrips. Thanks for the nomination, my friend.

My answers:

1. Did you enjoy where you grew up?

I sure did! I grew up in a suburban area of Germany, Hamburg. It was a small town. I loved life and enjoyed being outside and playing with my friends. During summer we would hang out at the public swimming bath all day. We were into all kinds of stuff, such as Hip Hop, BMX bikes, breakdance and lots more. Back then I was totally into gymnastics and were really good at it. At some point my parents decided to move out to the real country side, approx. 20 km away, which was a lot for a child at my age. I was sad I had to stop being into gymnastics and I understood my life took a new and different direction at that point. I replaced gymnastics with playing with sticks and stones out in the woods.

Being a teenager, it got more important to live very close to Hamburg, the second biggest city in Germany. I always loved urban flavor. I always felt I had it all and did not miss anything in life. My parents managed to offer me a life, where it seemed like anything is possible. That’s a very fortunate life.

2. Would you rather live alone in a beautiful countryside or work hard and live in the city around the people you love? Why?

To me both options are fine. I lived in big cities such as Hamburg, Frankfurt, NYC, I lived in some suburbs and I also have been living out on the country side. It all has it’s own qualities and it pretty much depends on what you want out of your life. As I was into culture, going out, meeting friends, experiencing different influences, food and lots more – I sure loved being in the city. I loved the exciting vibrant life that kept my busy, curious, learning… Been there, done that.

For now I love life out on the countryside, still having a big city close by. The country side is great for growing up, being surrounded by nature and animals. To me this is a ideal place to grow up and that is what I like my Minime to experience – and for myself it is a great get away and enjoy time to myself and to slow down from busy days at work.

3. What do you love about living in your neighborhood?

It’s save, clean and green. It offers a huge variety of life and it’s up to everyone to take a choice. It’s a life with small worries. You know your neighbors and the people living in your village. It’s a small and friendly community where everyone is welcome.

I totally love my surrounding, fresh air, green trees and woods, the fields and enough space for animals.

In case I need a more vibrant life, it takes a car ride of 30 minutes to be in the heart of Hamburg. Further the ocean, the North Sea and Baltic ocean is close by as well. What more can I ask for?

4. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?

I always enjoy returning to the USA, an amazing country with huge differences and varieties. I haven’t been to Asia yet, so this is on top of my list.

5. Describe your idea of a perfect day.

There are two types of perfect days, if it is one that needs to fit in my regular busy daily schedule, I’d be happy with sleeping in, having breakfast outside. Enjoying nature, walking on the countryside or going to the beach, maybe a good coffee and a book. Maybe continue walking and taking pictures. Maybe meeting friends for dinner… a great conversation. I definitely like time to myself too. I also like it when I don’t worry of house keeping and all that, but really take quality time for Minime and myself in order to do something together.

Which brings me to the next possibility: a perfect day also is a day to me, when I can be spontaneous and do what ever and out of nowhere this wonderful day is happening unexpectedly.

6. What is your favourite form of entertainment?

Rare times I watch movies. I sure love music and I love to read books. I’d say my favorite entertainment is music, as it is so much more than entertainment to me.

Further, in order to entertain myself, writing, blogging, photos, being creative is my first choice of entertainment and action. Those hobbies do not feel like lost time, after all I still have an outcome.

7. Is mankind going in the right or wrong direction?

May I adjust that question – I don’t think it is on anyone to judge, so there is no right or wrong. Or can you really say something is good or bad for any reason? I think, I understand what you are trying to find out and my answer has to be: we could do better. There always will be good and bad arguments and it all has it’s reasons and consequences. It will lead us somewhere and we will be dealing with it.

8. Is it better for someone to have a wide range of superficial knowledge or a deep knowledge about a few things?

Depending on the situation, both can be very helpful and in that case you need be open and flexible. Me being a perfectionist, my heart beats for doing the best I can do, there is no way to do something half hearted or only a little bit. Still, there is so much we are learning, every moment…

9. What’s the last picture you clicked? Share it with us.

10. Give a random blogger a compliment.

I instantly was looking at my blog feedback for the last like or comment, this time it was of Wibi Wonders: www.smallwonders.blog lucky, me – it’s an easy one to do. I really do love Wibi’s blog and I visit it regularly. To me it is special and I always wonder where the content is coming from.

I enjoy it when someone is living life with open eyes and open arms, embracing life – that’s what Wibi does. You really notice she cherishes life. I enjoy the stories she tells within every photo or word, the glimpse of an old history and all those memories she saved and shared.

My questions:

  1. What is the soundtrack of your life?
  2. If your life is like an open book, what would be the title of it?
  3. Do you prefer to spend time with other people and adapt or would you rather do your own thing?
  4. So what is next for you?
  5. How do you deal with the history of your country?

….5 questions and 5 or even more nominations?! I don’t wanna over do it. I like to keep the quality high and keeping it special. Therefore:

for the Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award I’d like to nominate the fabulous Wibi Wonders: www.smallwonders.blog only!

My congratulations and heart goes out to you and anyone reading this.

Honestly, I really enjoyed reading your answers.

I also told myself that my children will grow up in like a rural area. Surrounded by ranches and farms

I always enjoyed living in rural places. But most times, I find myself in the urban areas.

Germany! I was considering traveling to either Spain, Germany or Australia.

And you have really enlightened us all about a little of your experiences in Germany. I should really start learning their language now 😅

Yes. We can’t judge the world. We are not in the place to judge mankind.

Congratulations 🎉🎈🍾🎊 once again. You deserve this and many more!!! You are a wonderful person and your uniqueness is reflecting on your blog and the lives of your readers!😃❤️
