Carnivorous Plants || Fleischfressende Pflanzen

Carnivorous Plants || Fleischfressende Pflanzen

Sometimes I feel like life eats me up completely. Imagine a carnivorous plant eating you up alive. The sweet smell and taste caught you and keeps you away from moving on. You feel like a prisoner, and the circumstances that caught you alive are like a big sucker, taking advantage of all your energy. I bet you know that feeling.

Lately I realized, that all my positivism and my creative output is gone, whenever I feel trapped like that. It’s all sucked away. Stress kills me and eats me alive. I see my job and other parts of my life are very demanding and are keeping me real busy. Sometimes I am getting real tired and exhausted from trying to escape…

Please take good care of yourself and watch out for carnivorous plants!

    Oh Lord! I wish I could unsee that analogy. But…I concede! IT IS THE PERFECT ANALOGY!
    Yes, I know that feeling. If it goes on too long, M’dear, it can turn into burn out. Burn out is very much like a slow burning trauma. If it’s not taken care of then it can have holistic effects; long term stress, revert to unhealthy coping and impact to the whole being; body, mind and spirit.

    How do you self care? Are you too busy for self care right now? Reading? Walks in nature? Prayer? Meditation? Being around family? Cooking? Being alone with your thoughts to decompress…or with a trusted friend?

    I won’t go on and on, but I just wanted to put that out there. I’ve had my own experiences with what you are talking about, and I know how that has effected me when I denied it (and you are not doing that, so that’s SUPER GOOD). I ALSO know burnout…intimately.

    So I would care about you, and I love what you do. And though I bet your vocation is helping people some how…with your great positive spirit, helping nature and loving soul, I also know…you can also spare some specifically for your self. Please do! The world needs and loves you dearly.

    1. Thank you Ian for your words and thanks for caring. I appreciate it a lot. And yes, you are right: it is a burn out. I have been dealing with it for almost 2 years now and still am trying to recover and learn from it. I learned a lot from it so far. Nowadays, I see it positive and as a chance and duty to change my life….Long way to leave it behind though…. thanks for taking so much time and effort to give me your advice. That means a lot to me. 🙂 Sovely
